|From January 15028. 2018, music students will be invited to participate in a Practice-A-Thon fundraiser, organized by Thank You for the Music Society and the BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association. Participating students will collect pledges and commit to practice for a specific amount of time over the two week practice-a-then. The majority of money raised through the fundraiser will go to the Surrey School District, to support the purchase of new acoustic, hybrid and stage pianos.
As a teacher, I am thrilled to be sharing this opportunity with you and truly hope your family decides to participate. The Practice-A-Thon is a wonderful way to strengthen students’ practice habits, while also encouraging empathy and empowering them to make a difference in their community.

Halloween & Christmas recitals
Friday, October 6, 2017 by Colleen Branson | recitals
Well, I'm a bit slow posting this but I did get the first two recitals of this term booked.
October 29th at 2pm: To be held at Whitecliff seniors residence in South Surrey. We had fun doing this last year and I got great feedback from the residence, even ones who listened from the lobby. Details coming about parking etc but please put it on your CALENDAR now. Thank you parents.
December 10th at 2pm: Same venue as the Halloween recital.
Address: 15501 16 Avenue, south Surrey, BC, V4A 9M5
Dress code: Sunday best or costume [as seems appropriate]. No shorts, jeans or runners please [talk to me if this is a problem please parents].
Parking: If you arrive early there may be parking in the lot. You need to sign your car in at the desk. Otherwise, feel free to park on the street to the north and enter through the back gate.
Snacks: You are welcome to bring a small to medium sharing plate of goodies to the reception afterwards. [Please NO PLATTERS!]. Please take it home with you when you leave...
Welcome to the 2019-2020 Studio year and an introduction to Skippy!

Welcome students & parents,
As you all hopefully remember, lessons commence this same week as schools open. I hope you are all rested and refreshed and ready to make some music!
Remember to just knock and walk in in the minutes just prior to your lesson time. If you arrive early, please wait in the car until it is almost your scheduled lesson time (if possible). Some students don’t mind having an observer for the last part of their lesson, but others are not comfortable having the next student sitting right behind them. There is a hassock in the entrance way — unfortunately I do not have a “waiting room”.
Also, just to let you know that you may be greeted a little more noisily the next time you arrive. A 3-legged canine friend of mine, Skippy, is staying with us. She is a dog who we are fostering. She will not be in the Studio area, and will not be in the entrance way unless you request to meet her. She is very friendly but as with all new dogs, don’t pet her without asking their owner/friend.
I am SO looking forward to seeing all of you again this week!

Hello Studio Families!
Happy Easter......and anything else you celebrate at this time of year!
I cannot believe how fast this year is flying away. The June recital is just 2 months away!!! June 23rd at 6:30 pm -- mark it on your calendars. I am holding it the same place as last June's recital, at Northwood United Church. Unfortunately 6:30 is the earliest we can start this time. I hope this works out for everyone.
More details will follow and we will start polishing up pieces not too long from now. I am SO enjoying teaching all your children and hope you are enjoying listen to them practice and seeing them progress.
Musically yours ... Mrs. Colleen Branson, RMT
