Online Lessons

Monday, March 23, 2020 by Colleen Branson | Lessons

Here is a very useful YouTube video on setting up for online teaching.  She is a lovely composer and teacher who works in Nova Scotia, and does a great simple video on setting up for online teaching.  The only difference is that she says she will mail the link for the Zoom lesson the day before the lesson, whereas I start the lesson on my end with a button in my MyMusicStaff schedule.

I look forward to seeing you all online in these extraordinary times!

Practice-A-Thon Fundraiser

Tuesday, January 9, 2018 by Colleen Branson | practice

Dear Parents,

|From January 15028. 2018, music students will be invited to participate in a Practice-A-Thon fundraiser, organized by Thank You for the Music Society and the BC Registered Music Teachers’ Association.  Participating students will collect pledges and commit to practice for a specific amount of time over the two week practice-a-then.  The majority of money raised through the fundraiser will go to the Surrey School District, to support the purchase of new acoustic, hybrid and stage pianos.

As a teacher, I am thrilled to be sharing this opportunity with you and truly hope your family decides to participate.  The Practice-A-Thon is a wonderful way to strengthen students’ practice habits, while also encouraging empathy and empowering them to make a difference in their community.
